Problem Frame - Jamie Porter

(Open letter to President Nixon)

The United States is at it's highest involvement with the Vietnam War, with over 500,000 troops stationed in Vietnam and surrounding areas currently. While it may seem necessary as well as beneficial for the US to be involved in this war, our involvement is hurting not only our economy but the lives of thousands of US citizens, which both out weigh any possible advantages of this war. By allowing for the return of our US soldiers from Vietnam, it would not only boost the countries overall moral, but it would also help our economy substantially. If our involvement continues, thousands more young men will die in foreign soil while our nation is torn apart from the inside. Removal of US troops from Vietnam would benefit our economy by taking away the mass amounts that are being spent on men and supplies. The nation will also come together once again, given time to heal and regroup after an already horrendous war.
