1. The audience members for my open letter would be members within the mass media, (writers, reporters, editors) who believe the concept of an interesting story and "Click bait" title is more important than ethically informing a public audience.
2. Profit focused, media conglomerates who have a bias and an alternate agenda rather than being informative; specifically, a White collar, urbanized, younger spectrum of the working force (24-35)
3. We both understand the need to cover controversial news stories for the sake of profit and the continuation of the publication.
4. We do not share the idea controversial and "hateful" groups and stories should be covered, normalized, and not disavowed for the sake of profit.
5. Urging a media source to write and report for the sake of informing the public and ignoring particular stories that will draw attention and profit may make it difficult to persuade my audience to act against their current best interest.
6. Myself and my audience will find common ground in the idea white Nationalism and alt-right groups spread negative and divisive messages that should not be normalized for the sake of the well-being of the country.
7. I refuse to concede that profit and intrigue are more important than accurately informing the general public of major conflicts such as that of white nationalism.
8. Possible objections to my argument will be acknowledged and explained toward the end of the paper after a strong argument has been set against reporting on white nationalism.
