Who/What: Tucson Unified School District students staged a walkout when the Mexican American studiy classes got removed.
When: this happened in March of 2012
Where: Sunnyside Unified School Districts. So, SunnySide High School, Desert View, Pueblo i believe at the time was one.
Why: The SUSD school board decided that they would cut out the Mexican American study calsses which was a bad idea since almost every student was a Mexican american. To those people cutting those classes meant cutting out their heritage of sorts. As someone who was at school when this happened, it was a surreal experience, and also a free day to miss school
